Just waiting

Well, as it has been a week since my last post, I wanted to fill you all in that we are ready for our little girl to arrive and now we are just waiting.  I have another week before my next doctor’s appointment, but I hope to deliver before then…so daily I am taking 1-2 walks and making sure to rest up for the big event when it decides to start!  We’ll keep you posted and might even add a post when labor begins!  Happy New Year!  PS-Feel free to send email or other things to keep me distracted…waiting is a hard thing to do!

Progress continues

Today was my 38 week appointment and our little girl is still looking happy and healthy and measuring right where she should!

The doctor mentioned I have made some more progress and am now about 2 cm dilated with the baby’s head dropping further down.  These are all great signs that the cramping I have been experiencing is doing something, but no guarantee that labor will be happening right away.  So we’ll keep you posted here and let you know as soon as the real thing hits!

Oh and the baby furniture has arrived!  Keep watch on the baby page at www.wellmansweb.us/baby.htm for an updated photo of the nursery!

Making progress

Today was another doctor’s appointment!  All checked out well, the baby has a great strong heartbeat, was moving around well and is still in head-down position where she will likely stay!  The doc even said she seems lower than last time which many strangers have told me looking at my belly too!

All those cramps and Braxton-Hicks seemed to have made some progress and my OBGYN said I am 1-1.5cm dialated!  Stay tuned as to further progress!  My 38 week appointment is scheduled for Dec 28th!

Feeling big at 35 weeks!

Just a quick update to let you all know Theresa and baby Wellman are doing well.  We are getting very excited and more prepared in case she does come early.  Ryan and I just bought her gong home dress yesterday and also a cute baby book to start capturing memories!  Looking forward to sharing more info soon…next appointment Dec 21st.

She’s growing big!

As explained in my last post, I had a follow-up ultrasound yesterday to see why my uterus was measuring a bit above average.  So I went to the appointment yesterday and found all is well with our little girl!!  She is healthy, vibrant and kicking!

She is in position for delivery with her head and the bulk of her weight on my bladder…(thanks!) and her 5lb body curled up in a “C” shape with her back along my right side and little butt wedged in my ribs.  I had a few braxton-hicks contractions while the tech was exploring my belly which are all good signs that my body is preparing for labor!

Also our little girl was exercising her diaphram, getting ready to take her first breath!  And to my surprise she seems to have big feet and chubby little cheeks already!  We also got some great views of all 5 fingers on each hand and confirmation again that she is definitely a girl!

Check out the baby page for ultrasound photos coming soon!  www.wellmansweb.us/baby.htm

Latest Doctors appointment

I had a doctor’s visit yesterday for my 32 weeks checkup, though I was already 33.5 weeks.  I am still feeling and looking good so the doctor was happy to see that.  The heartbeat of our little gril sounded very strong and she even gave a few kicks on the examination table!

The doctor measured my uterus and found I was measuring big, so we have another ultrasound on Thursday the 30th to make sure baby is doing well and not too large or to see if maybe I am retaining lots of fluid.  I will update you all at the end of the week with the results and hopefully some more snapshots of our little girl!

32 weeks

Hello everyone!  Well this past week was a tough one as I needed lots of rest, but today started out great with a good walk and even some raking of leaves out in our front yard!  The exercise felt great!  I am feeling like the baby has dropped some today as I am able to eat more at one sitting and cannot sit upright without moving my legs to give room to my belly!  keep watch for photos and see if you can tell if my belly has dropped!

Nursery making progress

Well the weekend of baby showers has past and we received lots of great goodies from family and friends!  The nursery is now coming together as we have the walls painted, the bedding set all out and many clothes aready hanging in the closet!

Mommy Theresa is feeling ok, but sure is noticing an energy drop this week.   Some reading has told me that weeks 31-32, where I am now, are typical of a growth spurt…so I’m assuming that is the energy drain I am feeling!  Time to slow down a bit more and get some rest!  We’ll keep you posted.  Next doctors appointment is Nov 27th.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

30 weeks

Today is the 30 week mark…3/4 of the way!  Ryan and I are excitedly preparing the nursery and organizing the house for the arrival of new baby gear.  I’ve been feeling pretty good, but having a hard time sleeping as I am waking up about every 2 hours.  I hope this week of this restless sleep is just due to a growth spurt in the baby or something else that might subside a bit!  She is for sure very active right now and kicks many times that make me jump…so maybe that is what is causing me to wake so often.  After 32 weeks, the uterus gets pretty cramped and she won’t be able to move as much…We’ll keep you posted!

Hiccups

Last night I felt the baby caught in a storm of hiccups.  All I read says that these are very common at this time and I had yet to feel them…maybe our little girl won’t get them much!
