Today was my 38 week appointment and our little girl is still looking happy and healthy and measuring right where she should!
The doctor mentioned I have made some more progress and am now about 2 cm dilated with the baby’s head dropping further down. These are all great signs that the cramping I have been experiencing is doing something, but no guarantee that labor will be happening right away. So we’ll keep you posted here and let you know as soon as the real thing hits!
Oh and the baby furniture has arrived! Keep watch on the baby page at www.wellmansweb.us/baby.htm for an updated photo of the nursery!

Today was another doctor’s appointment! All checked out well, the baby has a great strong heartbeat, was moving around well and is still in head-down position where she will likely stay! The doc even said she seems lower than last time which many strangers have told me looking at my belly too!
All those cramps and Braxton-Hicks seemed to have made some progress and my OBGYN said I am 1-1.5cm dialated! Stay tuned as to further progress! My 38 week appointment is scheduled for Dec 28th!

As explained in my last post, I had a follow-up ultrasound yesterday to see why my uterus was measuring a bit above average. So I went to the appointment yesterday and found all is well with our little girl!! She is healthy, vibrant and kicking!
She is in position for delivery with her head and the bulk of her weight on my bladder…(thanks!) and her 5lb body curled up in a “C” shape with her back along my right side and little butt wedged in my ribs. I had a few braxton-hicks contractions while the tech was exploring my belly which are all good signs that my body is preparing for labor!
Also our little girl was exercising her diaphram, getting ready to take her first breath! And to my surprise she seems to have big feet and chubby little cheeks already! We also got some great views of all 5 fingers on each hand and confirmation again that she is definitely a girl!
Check out the baby page for ultrasound photos coming soon! www.wellmansweb.us/baby.htm
